I am the type of person who needs goals. Challenges. I don’t work well without them. Whether it is signing up for a 5k run before I even start running, competing in the 50 Book Challenge for the second year in a row, or doing #100happydays, I excel when there is a goal in place. If not, I will just rest on my laurels, stagnant, lazy.
In my half asleep stupor this morning, after I took the dog out for his 7am walk, I came up with my next challenge.
Read 1000 books.
Shocking I know, considering this is the entire premise of this blog. But bear with me. I feel like this is no easy task. That’s a heck of a lot of books!
I have always been an avid reader – devouring anything and everything I get my hands on. As I mentioned, I’m completing the #50BookPledge for the second year in a row, setting my sights on 75 books read this year (currently I’m sitting at 32).
But I feel like that is too small a goal. Why not shoot for the sky? 1000 books. No time limit. No weeding out books based on length or intended audience. Any book that I read counts – from children’s picture books to epic classics, and everything in between. And why not blog about what I’ve been reading? What I liked? What I hated? What I was meh about? What made me cry? What made me laugh? What made me want to read on my Kobo because I was quasi embarrassed to be reading said title in public? All of it.
Let’s do this thing.
Happy reading –
